As a new Moody student, Grace Vang worried her classmates would exclude her because of her Hmong ethnicity. Instead, she was treated with respect by Caucasian students and professors. Now a junior Communications student, Grace has joined other Hmong Moody students and alumni each spring break to lead a Bible conference for the youth in several Hmong churches, including the one her dad pastors. "Our mission is to partner with the churches in providing tools, equipping them with knowledge that we’re learning, and walking with them," she says. As a result, Hmong churches are being strengthened, and more Hmong students are coming to Moody for biblical training.

Andy, a 2004 Moody Bible Institute grad, ministers with Fellowship of Christian Athletes to reach student athletes and coaches in eastern Kentucky. Recently, he's been using Moody's Today in the Word Bible study on the Gospel of John with 10 college football players and their coach. "People are seeking answers to life. Everything is changing and they're looking for absolutes," Andy said. "We're able to point them to God's Word. It is really cool how God worked it out. When people invest in Today in the Word, you're partnering with the gospel. We're starting to see a lot of fruit come about. God's reaping a harvest right now!"
Diane has been a Today in the Word reader for at least 10 years. "My daily walk is not complete without the verses I read," she says. "God's Word encourages me to deal with the strife of the day, and it is good to know that God is faithful even in my daily life." A widow of 9 years, Diane is committed to encouraging others who might be going through hard times. Every day, she texts 13 friends the daily Bible verse from Today in the Word's devotional. She says, "I usually get a heart emoji or thank you for a specific verse that touches their heart."
