Moody Radio Names General Manager

08.06.2018

Moody Radio Cleveland station manager, Scott Krus, to serve as general manager of Moody Radio

Moody Radio announced today that Scott Krus has been named general manager of its national radio network.

Krus, a 27-year radio veteran, currently serves as station manager for Moody Radio Cleveland (WCRF), a position he has held since 2014. His tenure as general manager will begin on Sept. 1, and he will be based out of Moody Radio’s network headquarters in Chicago.

“The general manager’s role is extremely pivotal to the success of a radio network, and Scott has the background, skills, and passion to take Moody Radio into our next season,” said Doug Hastings, Moody Radio’s previous general manager who was recently appointed as vice president in May 2018. “Scott is very well known at Moody Radio, respected by staff and industry leaders, and has proven that he will effectively lead Moody Radio as general manager.”

In his new role with Moody Radio, Krus will report directly to Hastings and direct all administrative functions, including finances, personnel, technical and engineering facilities, business operations and FCC compliance.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve our teams and energized by the challenge of navigating this ever-changing landscape of media ministry,” said Krus. “I believe that Moody is strategically positioned to expand on its role as a leader in the industry and uniquely equipped to inspire listeners to take that next step in their walk with Jesus Christ. I am looking forward with great excitement to all that God will do in the days to come.”

Krus’ radio career launched in 1991 when he served as Moody Radio affiliate station manager in Pekin, Ill., with WBNH. He later served as Moody Radio’s manager of network development, and then integrated marketing manager. He has served as station manager of Moody Radio Cleveland since 2014. He studied communications at Illinois Central College, and earned an Associate’s Degree from Moody Bible Institute.

Coming on as general manager is particular timely as the more than 90-year-old Moody Radio begins transferring this fall to its new home in the Chapman Center, which is nearing the end of construction on the Chicago campus. Moody Radio and its partner media ministry Moody Publishers will be located in a united workspace for the first time in Moody’s history. “We are excited about the unprecedented collaboration and synergy in the area of biblically-based media creation that will take place, and Scott will be instrumental not only in helping us transfer to this new space but to harness and utilize new technology to expand the ministry and reach of Moody Radio,” added Hastings.
