Statement from Chief Operating Officer, Mark Wagner

As we begin our Spring 2019 semester, I want you to be aware of a change that will take place on our Chicago campus.

LifeWay Bookstore on the corner of LaSalle Boulevard and Chicago Avenue has been a valued partner of Moody since 2003, and has provided a wonderful service to our staff, faculty, and students, as well as the surrounding community. Unfortunately, they have chosen to not renew their lease for this coming year, and, therefore, LifeWay’s Chicago Avenue store will be closing in 2019.

While this results in the absence of a retail partner on our campus providing resources and textbooks, we also realize many of you already leverage other resources including online merchants such as Amazon, and from our annual student book sale in the plaza.

Moving forward, we are prayerfully considering a number of options and already discussing plans for how to strategically use this space in a fiscally responsible way consistent with our mission, and that best serves our campus community’s needs. When those plans are finalized, we will communicate them with you.
