“Kurt and Kate Mornings”

12.13.2018

Kurt Goff joining Kate Bruington on Moody Radio Florida’s morning show

Joining Kate Bruington on Moody Radio Florida’s morning show will be Kurt Goff, current host of Kurt Goff Live. Kurt and Kate Mornings airs every weekday, from 6 to 9 a.m. ET, with Goff joining the program on Jan. 14, 2019.

“I’m excited to have Kurt join our team,” said Pierre Chestang, station manager for Moody Radio Florida. “He’s been encouraging our overnight listeners for the past several years and now our morning listeners have the opportunity to get to know him. He has a great love for God and for each listener. That becomes evident as he shares his heart with authenticity each time he opens the mic.”

With Goff’s transition to serving as co-host of the morning show at Moody Radio Florida, Moody Radio will cease production of Kurt Goff Live. The national, six-hour program, heard from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. CT, launched in 2014, and is much-loved by listeners for Goff’s biblical insight, encouraging stories and incorporation of inspirational music.

Goff hosted his final live program on Thursday, Dec. 6, with Moody Radio airing The Best of Kurt Goff Live until Jan. 31, 2019. Future evening programming is currently being developed and will be announced as plans are finalized.

"Each day during the overnight hours Kurt brought listeners hope and encouragement from God’s Word and pointed them to Jesus Christ,” said Dan Craig, manager of programming for Moody Radio. “Kurt will be dearly missed by those who can only listen overnight. However, listeners in Florida will now hear Kurt’s heart and be able to participate in meaningful conversations, as Kurt says, ‘. . . with the Bible as the guide.’”

“It’s been one of the great joys of my life to be able to connect with listeners on Kurt Goff Live,” said Goff. “We’ve shared the gospel, encouraged one another in Christ, navigated life in real time, prayed for each other, tackled tough topics, and had a few laughs, too. When the Lord made this new assignment available, I was excited and joining Kate on the morning show is an incredible honor.” He added, “The listeners love Kate, and her heart for the Lord inspires me. My prayer is that God will use this show to encourage, challenge and deepen the faith of those who join us each morning.”

A broadcasting veteran of 30 years, Goff has anchored television news and hosted a variety of radio programs before coming to Moody Radio in 2014. Previous to Moody Radio, he hosted a daily, three-hour afternoon drive talk show for a Christian radio station that served Buffalo and Rochester, N.Y., along with Toronto, Canada. He is married

Co-host, Kate Bruington, is from East Hartford, Conn., with experience in TV and radio as well. Before entering broadcasting, Bruington attended the Boston Conservatory of Music and traveled the country singing. She can also be heard locally on Music for Sunday.

“We are all so excited that Kurt is joining the team here in the Sunshine State,” said Bruington. “I’ve been a longtime fan of his obvious love and respect for our listeners, and I know he will bring that gift for offering compassion, hope and fun with him. What a wonderful way to start the New Year.”
